CHS Club FUTURE joins up with other area students for Ross County Drug-Free Rally

Circleville City Schools – On Friday, October 27th, approximately 150 members of Circleville High School’s Drug-Free Clubs of America affiliated Club FUTURE attended the M.A.D.E. Ross County Drug-Free rally today in support of leading in a drug free life.

My Attitude Determines Everything (M.A.D.E.) is Club FUTURE’s Drug-Free Clubs of America sister organization present in Ross County (Chillicothe City) schools. Both organizations utilize a community framework of support with incentives and random drug screenings in fostering a drug-free culture within their schools.

Circleville City Schools – October 13th saw the 2017 rendition of the Circleville City School District Homecoming celebration. The festivities started pregame with the ribbon cutting of our new band tower and continued well into the night with a Circleville High School Alumni Association Hot Air Balloon Raffle and a generous Champion’s Club donation and the Homecoming game.

Seniors Dylan Brooks and Sydney Dowden took home honors at halftime as Circleville High School’s 2017 Homecoming King and Queen.

With multiple generations of the Red and Black in attendance, Homecoming 2017 was certainly a night to remember.

3 CHS students honored in 2017 Herald Pumpkin Show Art Contest


Circleville City Schools –  Circleville High School students – (Junior) Bea Benjapipatkul, (Sophomore) Krista Szymczak, and  (Senior) Lauria Chestna – were recently among the  county school district winners of the 2017 Circleville Herald Pumpkin Show Art Contest.

Student artwork will be published in this year’s 2017 Circleville Herald Pumpkin Show Edition primer. As an extension of the contest,  all three students will be awarded a $75 commission from area sponsors for the art work and will have their illustrations displayed at those sponsors’ place of business over the next few weeks.

Keep an eye out the next time you are at The Savings Bank (Benjapipatkul), Cooks Creek Golf Club (Chestna) , and Ohio University Chillicothe branch (Szymczak) for these student works of art.

Bea, Krista, and Lauria are all students of Mrs. Soni Grady at Circleville High School. Congratulations to these three Tigers on the honor!

Circleville City School District receives $25,000 donation from Hummel and Plum Insurance

Circleville City Schools – On Monday, October 2nd, the Circleville City School District received a $25,000 donation from the Hummel and Plum Insurance Agency to be put to use for improvements to the campus’ baseball complex.

The generous contribution from the insurance firm will specifically be put to use for student initiatives related to the baseball complex such as upgrades to the backstop, bullpen/mounds, and batting cages.

“We are extremely humbled by the amazing community partners we have, Hummel and Plum being the latest example, willing to donate specifically to expanded opportunities for our students,” Superintendent Jonathan Davis said.

A Circleville City Schools community partner, Hummel and Plum Insurance Agency, inc. has been a staple of the Circleville-area community since its founding in 1904. Today, Hummel and Plum has offices in Circleville, Ashville, Mount Sterling, and Chillicothe and partners with five diverse, Ohio-based providers to accommodate the needs of their customer base at competitive rates.

The organization is slated to be recognized for their contribution at the upcoming October 11th meeting of the Board of Education.
